Panglao Island Tour

During the Panglao Island Tour, you will be visiting the tourists spots in the island of Panglao. This is a land tour and entirely different from the Sea Tour or Dolphin / Whale Watching and Island Hopping activity. This said activity can be completed in 3 to 4 hours.

About the Spots

Dauis Church – or the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption is located 5 minutes ride from the city proper. The church features sophisticated and complex design structure and showcases painted ceilings like most of churches in the Philippines. The feature that attracts most tourists however is the miraculous well located near the altar of the church. The water from the well is said to cure illnesses thus tourists flock to visit the church. Miraculously, the water from the well is very refined and pure, even though the site is near the sea and the wells dug around the area all have salty water.

Cafe Lawis – one of the spots to be visited during the Panglao Island Tour

Cafe Lawis – is a restaurant located just few meters away from Dauis Church. You can relax under the large acacia tree while enjoying the view of the harbor separating Tagbilaran City and the town of Dauis.

Bayoyoy – is also known as the dwarf man. He suffers from dwarfism along with some of his siblings.

Hinagdanan Cave – located in Bingag, Dauis. It’s name came from the local word “hagdan” meaning ladder or “hinagdanan” which means laddered, which describes the way of getting inside the cave which is through a ladder. Inside the cave, there’s a body of water where some tourists would take time and enjoy swimming.

Bohol Bee Farm – a known resort in Panglao Island which offers organic food and nature-friendly ambiance. As its name suggests, the resort also has a bee farm, where guests either just visiting or staying at the resort, can have their farm tour.

The best time to have Panglao Island Tour
The tour can be done any time of the day and can be started as late as around 3:00 in the afternoon as it will only take 3-4 hours to complete. However, for guests staying in a resort in Panglao, it can be done before checking in at the resort, especially if there is no other tour scheduled on that day and the guests have few hours to spare. It can likewise be done after check-out from the resort and before proceeding to the sea port or airport.

About Panglao Island

Panglao Island is the second largest island in the province of Bohol (Bohol mainland being the largest). It is composed of two towns, Dauis and Panglao. The town proper of Dauis is located about 3.5 km. from Tagbilaran City (from the Provincial Capitol) while Panglao town proper is about 18 km away.

The island of Panglao is famous for its white sand beaches, most notably in Alona Beach Area and Bolod. Longest stretch of white sand beach and long shoreline can be found in Bolod, Panglao where famous resorts like the Bohol Beach Club, Dumaluan Beach Resort and Whites and Greens Beach Resort are located. Alona Beach Area is likewise known for its powdery white sand beach. It is more developed compared to other places in Panglao, with number of resorts situated in the area. Nightly activities is also more prominent in the area than anywhere else on the island.
