In 2008, the Abatan River Development Management Council (ARDMC) formulated and adopted the Abatan River Master Plan which highlights community life tour as its ecotourism development strategy to sustainably manage the Abatan River. The multi-stakeholder approach in developing the Abatan River aims to encourage community participation in the conservation, preservation and management of the environment and cultural heritage in the area while generating income for the locals.

How to Get There

The Main Village Center of the Abatan River Community Life Tours is located in the National Highway of Salvador, Cortes, Bohol, Philippines. It is about 10 kilometers or 10-15 minutes travel from Tagbilaran City seaport or airport and approximately 45 kilometers or 30-40 minutes from Tubigon seaport. Taxis, van for hire, motor taxi, tricycle and public utility jeepneys and buses ply from Tagbilaran City to the Main Village Center. Public Utility vehicles (bus and van for hire) regularly plies from Tubigon to Tagbilaran City.
